Having been one of those who gave Spain a chance in the last 5 or 6 tournament finals they have played in, I have finally given up on them. Yes, I know Torres was on fire in the Premiership towards the end of the season but I believe they are still 3 or 4 top players short just now.
Every now & then we see the Euro championship go to an underdog as with Greece four years ago and Denmark in '92. I think we may have another this time with Sweden.
They will be a major threat in front of goal with Aston Villa's Marcus Allbäck and Zlatan Ibrahimović of Internazionale. They qualified as runners up to Spain, losing 2-0 in Spain but winning 3-0 in the return fixture and coach Lars Lagerbäck is a master technician who knows how to get the best out of his men.
I'm going SWEDEN EACH WAY (1st or 2nd) at 50/1 with Paddy Power.
The main threat in my view will come from Italy. Whoever qualifies from their 'group of death' deserves to reach the final and I am taking them to win group 'C' ahead of the Netherlands.
Other groups: I think the Germans will win group 'B' and Portugal may just finish ahead of the Czech Republic in group 'A'
